Daniella Silvestri, Ontario Therapist
Daniella Silvestri, RP (Qualifying)
I’m a casual, down‑to‑earth therapist who believes that healing happens best in spaces that feel human, not clinical. My style is warm, approachable, and unstructured — more like a real conversation than a formal appointment. I take a humanistic, client‑centered approach, which means your needs, pace, and comfort level guide our work together. You won’t find rigid agendas or forced timelines here. Instead, we follow what feels meaningful and relevant to you, moment by moment.
I work with adults, with specialized experience in grief, traumatic grief, neurodiversity, pet loss, and supporting first responders. These are areas where people often feel misunderstood or pressured to “be okay,” and I’m committed to offering a space where you don’t have to perform or mask. I’m pretty real in session — I don’t have much of a poker face, and I tend to tell it like it is, but always with gentleness and respect. Clients often describe me as authentic, easy to talk to, and someone who brings just enough humor to help heavy moments feel a little lighter.
In our work together, you can expect sessions that are client‑led and responsive to your nervous system. I’ll push when it’s helpful, but I’ll never drag you somewhere you’re not ready to go. My goal is for you to feel supported, understood, and met exactly where you are. The way I show up in therapy is the way I show up in life — honest, warm, and fully myself.

I really lean into a person-centered approach so my style is pretty open ended. It is very conversational and exploratory, but can be structured when needed. I focus on drawing out the reflective side of clients and can offer a bit of gentle confrontation or challenge when necessary.

Personally, I never liked getting structured homework growing up, so unless asked for, the “homework” I offer is more based in reflective practices; noticing, bringing awareness, paying attention. I have been known to give information sheets and practice tools for clients to reference outside of sessions but I’m not big on formal homework.

That is totally okay. Not everything discussed in therapy has to be really big, traumatic or life changing. Sometimes it can be helpful to revisit past topics, discuss current life events, or recap recent wins and positive aspects of life.

I would say that I am pretty good at adjusting my communication style to fit the client and their needs but overall, I try to be as authentic as possible in sessions. Sometimes that can be soft or gentle, sometimes it might look more direct or challenging, but I am often known to add a bit of humor when applicable.
